The K∅KP/B six meter beacon operates on 50.073 MHZ, using an omnidirectional Delta-Loop horizontally polarized antenna at 50 feet above ground level. The beacon power is 100 watts. The QTH is at the WDSE tower in the Duluth, MN Antenna Farm, on a 600 foot hill overlooking Lake Superior. The grid square is EN36wt.
This high power beacon, located in far northern Minnesota, is used extensively to determine the presence of VHF Aurora propagation. The beacon has been copied in Europe, South America, Hawaii, Alaska, and in most grid squares in the continental United States. Reception reports are welcome! Email k∅kp (at) arrl.net
