Obituary for Wayne A Moore

Wayne Arthur “Moose” Moore, 72, of Elkhart, passed away at 4:55 am, Sunday, June 8, 2014 in his home surrounded by family. Wayne was born on March 4, 1942, the son of the late Maurice and Dora (Brown) Moore. One August 10, 1960, he married Sandra Thomson. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra; their four children, Maureen (Richard) Parker of Mishawaka, Maurice “Rick” (Tammy) Moore of Elkhart, Nila (Mark) Myrick of Elkhart and Doreen Jones of Elkhart. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Roman, Jason, Brittany, Leon, Kyle, Celsey, and Brianna, and three great grandchildren, Tyler, Chloe, and Colt. Moose worked as a truck driver for many years and also worked at Bendix for 15 years before its closing.

He loved antique cars and was a ham radio operator. His call sign was KA9OZK and his handle was “The Old Zookeeper”.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services were held in the funeral home with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
